The Carolina panthers may trade DeAngelo Williams prior to the NFL Trade Deadline this Tuesday, as they continue to shake things up following the removal of Marty Hurney as the team’s general manager earlier this week. Williams and his backfield mate in Jonathan Stewart are two of the reasons why the Panthers fired Hurney, as they have been disappointments since both signing big contracts over each of the past two offseasons. Of course, it is partly due to how both have been utilized in Carolina’s offense. Head coach Ron Rivera has said that the Panthers will transition to a power running team, meaning Stewart will get the first crack at carrying the load. If he can prove that he has the “hot hand” going forward, then Stewart will be far more involved in the Panthers’ offense than Williams. Especially if the Panthers can trade Williams within the next 48 hours. His contract is a bit of an albatross, making any deal difficult to consummate in that short of a tie span. The window is q...
