NFL Says Timetable For Saints Coach Sean Payton To Return Is Undetermined

The NFL said a timetable for when suspended New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton can return to the team hasn't been determined, Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. This according to league spokesman Greg Aiello on Saturday afternoon. Aiello also said an ESPN report stating Payton wouldn't be able to apply for reinstatement until Feb. 4 was inaccurate. Aiello wouldn't elaborate as to why no timetable has been determined for Payton's return date. The league originally stipulated when it announced it upheld Payton's suspension in April that Payton would be suspended for the entire 2012 NFL season. Aiello said in mid-December that internal discussions had begun about Payton's reinstatement, but the league hadn't begun discussions with Payton at the time. Source: The Redzone
