In an interesting twist, the NFL has suspended former Browns linebacker Eric Barton for four games. What makes the move so interesting is that Barton retired a month ago. Barton had fun with the report on Twitter. “Suspended me from what I retired a month ago,” he wrote. “GODell is now suspending retired players? wow!” Barton was among a number of free agents suspended by Goodell on Saturday. The NFL also handed out the following suspensions according to Mike Florio at PFT: linebacker Eric Alexander (four games), tackle Robert Brewster (four games), linebacker Vinny Ciurciu (four games), linebacker Harry Coleman (one game), defensive end Charles Grant (two games), linebacker Brandon Lang (four games), running back Dominic Rhodes (one year) and defensive tackle Pat Williams (two games).
