NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told fans on Sunday that the league is thinking about using some full time officials in the 2012 season. After watching some of the officiating in the league this past weekend, I couldn’t agree with this decision more. Goodell was speaking to about 75 fans in Baltimore prior to the start of the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans game in one of his fan fest forums. Goodell takes questions from a select number of fans in these settings and was questioned about consistency in officiating and what could be done in order to help improve the on field calls. Goodell indicated that the league is looking into the possibility of retaining a small number of officials on a full time basis and then mixing those officials into the field crews which work on a part time basis.
