The New England Patriots have been without TE Rob Gronkowski for several weeks after he suffered a broken forearm. He returned to practice in the middle of December, but has failed to return to the field in game situations as of yet. In recent weeks, there has been speculation as to when Gronkowski would return to the field, after officially being listed as questionable on the team’s injury report. It now appears the holdup for Gronkowski is rooted in the fact he has not been medically cleared to return to the field.
ESPN Boston reports that Gronkowski told reporters he is still waiting for medical clearance to return.
“When the doctor’s clear me, when the training staff clears me, when I’m medically ready to play and they let me play, I’m sure I’ll be out there,” said Gronkowski.
