As I prepare to write this article on the NFL’s Strongest and Weakest Divisions, I feel that I should discuss the events that befell the Kansas City Chiefs organization.  Any time a domestic situation turns to violence I feel extremely bad for the families of all who were directly affected by this terrible situation and mostly I feel horrible for the young child who has been left without a parent.  No matter how tough relationships may get, NO WOMAN deserves violence especially since every home has a door.  Remove yourself from the heated situation by leaving and if need be, seek counseling.  Kasandra Perkins did not expect to lose her life at such a young age and she should still be taking care of her young child right now.  The NFL has taken steps to curb head trauma that occurs in athletes and perhaps this may have been another case of a damaged brain that sent someone over the edge.  As much as Roger Goodell has taken heat for removing some of the physicality out of game through fines and suspensions as well as increased player awareness, we all must remember that NFL player’s careers are short and they need to have healthy lives beyond the game.  Again, to the families of all who are affected, I give you my sympathy.   The NFL has seen teams with very surprising rises like the Colts, and the fall of others such as the Eagles.  If you told me that Indianapolis would be ranked 12th in the latest NFL.com Power Poll and the Eagles would be ranked 29th, I would have laughed in your face.  There is so much parity in the league in 2012, that even the best Vegas Oddsmakers are scratching their heads.  Who is the odds on favorite to win the Super Bowl???  Who knows.   AFC EAST New England – 3 New York Jets – 24 Buffalo – 21 Miami – 20 TOTAL = 68          Last Week = 75          Gain/Loss = +7   AFC NORTH Pittsburgh – 9 Baltimore – 7 Cincinnati – 13 Cleveland – 25 TOTAL = 54           Last Week = 50          Gain/Loss = -4   AFC SOUTH Houston – 1 Tennessee – 26 Jacksonville – 32 Indianapolis – 12 TOTAL = 71          Last Week = 72          Gain/Loss = +1   AFC WEST San Diego – 23 Kansas City – 30 Denver – 4 Oakland – 31 TOTAL = 88          Last Week = 93          Gain/Loss = +5     NFC EAST Philadelphia – 29 New York Giants – 8 Dallas – 15 Washington – 14 TOTAL = 66          Last Week = 70          Gain/Loss = +4   NFC NORTH Green Bay – 6 Chicago – 11 Detroit – 22 Minnesota – 18 TOTAL = 57          Last Week = 52          Gain/Loss = -5   NFC SOUTH Atlanta – 2 New Orleans – 17 Tampa Bay – 16 Carolina – 27 TOTAL = 62          Last Week = 55          Gain/Loss = -7   NFC WEST San Francisco – 5 Arizona – 28 Seattle – 10 St. Louis – 19 TOTAL = 62          Last Week = 61           Gain/Loss = -1   So to summarize the results, the AFC North is the Top division in the NFL for the 2nd consecutive week while the hapless AFC West continues to be the ugly duckling division for the 7th week in a row.  The largest improvement was the AFC East who jumped 7 spots while the week’s biggest free fall ended up as the NFC South who fell 7 spots.  What does next week have in store for us?  We’ll have to stay tuned.
