Nick Foles picked up even more hardware after tying the NFL record for passing touchdowns in a single game Sunday against the Raiders. Photo Courtesy of Sports Illustrated Nick Foles' mantle is getting pretty crowded.  On the heels of tossing an NFL record tying seven touchdown passes Sunday against the Oakland Raiders, Foles was named the NFC offensive player of the week for the second-time this season. The 24-year old shredded the Raiders defense, which entered week nine as the tenth rated unit in the league, to the tune of 406 yards and seven touchdowns on 22 of 28 passing and a perfect 158.3 quarterback rating.  “I think maybe it just confirmed. I’ve seen him practice. I’ve seen him getting better and better,” Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said of Foles' performance Monday. “But it’s going out on the field and doing it. That’s why I think what happened in the Cowboys game was such a surprise to everybody, because that’s not what Nick expects out of himself, not what we expected out of Nick. Just really happy for him.” What was perhaps most impressive about Foles' record setting game Sunday was that he tossed seven touchdowns in three quarters, becoming the first quarterback in league history to accomplish such a feat.  Foles also won the offensive player of the week honor following his dynamic performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 13th. In that game, returning to the site of his first career victory, Foles thew for three touchdowns on 296 yards passing while adding a rushing score as well and posting a quarterback rating of 133.3 While Kelly has yet to name a starting quarterback for the rest of the season, the more trophies and strong performances that Foles piles up in the upcoming games it will certainly make the decision much easier for the first-year head coach.  Matt Lombardo is the Editor-In-Chief of Eagledelphia and also an on-air personality on 97.5 FM The Fanatic in Philadelphia.
