Coy Wire, former Atlanta Falcons linebacker and prankster, confirmed in an interview yesterday that Atlanta did not conduct a bounty system under the current regime of Mike Smith. Wire confirmed that the Buffalo Bills had a bounty system under former HC and current St. Louis Rams' Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams, but he also confirmed that under Dick Jauron and former Atlanta Falcons Offensive Coordinator and current Jaguars Head Coach Mike Mularkey did not have bounty systems during their tenures as head coaches in Buffalo.

This will come as relief to Atlanta Falcons fans who had feared that the Falcons had gotten caught up in the widespread and rampant bounty programs. The turnaround that Arthur Blank, Rich McKay, Thomas Dimitroff, and Mike Smith have made in terms of character and honor in the locker-room and organization has been substantial. They have separated themselves from such a disgusting part of culture of the NFL by doing the right thing and I am proud that the Falcons front office, along with the coaches and players who kept this type of system out of the organization and locker-room.
