ESPN: Chicago Bears wide receiver Earl Bennett, who was fined $10,000 last week for wearing orange shoes, has been told he will not be allowed on the field if he wears the shoes again, a league source told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.
Last Sunday against the Lions was Bennett’s second uniform violation for wearing the shoes.
He told ESPN 1000 earlier this week that he had heard the fine would continue to increase and “after that I’ve heard that they are going to call delay of game and maybe kick me out of the game.”
Bennett just responded to the announcement on twitter:
So does this mean that the nickname Earl “Orange Shoes” Bennett will never become a part of NFL history? Thoroughly disappointed.

NFL Won't Let Bennett on Field in Orange Shoes
If it was the orange shoes that brought Earl Bennett good luck the past two Sundays, he'll need to find another source this week. The NFL informed the Bears wideout that he would be fined $15,000 and removed from the game if he wore the orange cleats that don't fit in the NFL's uniform guidelines.

NFL to Earl Bennett: You wear orange shoes, you get thrown out

According to CBS Sports' Charley Casserly, if Bennett wears the orange shoes on Sunday, he'll be fined another $15,000. And he'll be removed from the game...

Early game open thread presented by Roger Goodell hates Earl Bennett’s badass kicks
Earl Bennett just wants to look good and rock his orange cleats. Of course, since this deviates from the League Assimilation Protocol, the Bears receiver was fined after each of the last two games. The Bears won both (Eagles and Lions) and, more importantly, Bennett looked like the mack.
Rather than continue to escalate the fines, Chris Mortensen reports on Gameday this morning...
