Cincinnati Bengals fans received a scare earlier this week when reports indicated the possibility of running back Brian Leonard missing the entire 2010 season due to torn ligaments in his left foot. Now, they can be at ease knowing Leonard’s injury is only minor and he could return by the end of September, according to Bengals beat writer Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer. Leonard found out Wednesday there were no torn ligaments in his left foot and the injury has been diagnosed as a mid-foot sprain. He was a key part to the Bengals’ offense last season not just as a third-down specialist, but as an effective blocker.
