New York Jets veteran RB LaDainian Tomlinson told reporters this week that he is mentally prepared to play his last game in the NFL if that is what the future holds for him. This afternoon, as his New York Jets team takes on the Miami Dolphins, could be the last time Tomlinson takes the field in an NFL game. Tomlinson told reporters this week when asked about this possibly being his last game, “Yes, there is definitely a thought that this could be because you never know how things shake out. For me, it just depends on the situation. I’ve said that before. I would love to keep playing, but if the situation is not right, then I won’t. This possibly could be my last game”. Tomlinson will turn 33 prior to the start of the 2012 NFL season and has seen his production on the field decrease over the past two seasons with the New York Jets. 2011 was an injury plagued season for the veteran runner as he rushed for just 224 yards and scored just one rushing touchdown.To...

Preview -- Jets (8-7) at Dolphins (5-10)

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- How fitting is this? Rex Ryan's confident/swagger filled Jets needing not only a win down in Miami but they need a bit of help from their fellow colleagues. In order for the Jets to secure the AFC's No.6 spot, a winning New York team needs the Tennesse Titans to lose in Houston vs. the Texans, the Cincinnati Bengals to lose at home against the Baltimore...

Jets Player: Santonio Holmes Quit

New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes was benched during Sunday’s season ending loss to the Dolphins, after he was arguing with a teammate in the Jets offensive huddle in the fourth quarter. According to players on the Jets,  Holmes was moping around the field throughout the game,  and wasn’t listening to quarterback Mark Sanchez. [...]

Jets Stalled by Dolphins

He chucked seven interceptions over his last three outings. Shonn Greene was bottled up for 55 yards on 14 carries, to the chagrin of fantasy owners. Tight end Dustin...

Jets Fly Boys Holmes and Sanchez feuded

As the Jets cleaned out their lockers on Monday after their disappointing season ended on Sunday, a source told the Daily News that Santonio Holmes gave Mark Sanchez a hard time at a wide receivers' meeting on Wednesday.

Jets report card

OFFENSE The Jets managed 374 yards, but I can’t tell you how. They had four three-and-outs and never got into any kind of rhythm. Mark Sanchez (21-of-32, 207 yards, 2 TDs, 3 INTs) did nothing to quiet his critics. His interceptions were all brutal. WR Santonio Holmes (zero catches...

Jets To Revamp Their Offensive Coaching Staff

Barring a miraculous run through the AFC playoffs, the New York Jets will revamp their offensive coaching staff, despite an organizational philosophy of stability, sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen. While line coach Bill Callahan does not have a contract beyond this season, the drama will center around offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, who this year signed...

Schotty and Pettine to Become Head Coaches?

Although the Jets season didn’t go as planned, their coordinators on both sides of the ball are wanted as head coaches.  Manish Mehta has the details: If Pettine were to be hired by the Dolphins, the most logical replacement would be Dennis Thurman.  Currently the defensive backs coach, Thurman has been with Rex Ryan since 2002 when both were on the Baltimore Ravens coaching...
