rated that low only because of injuries over the last two years
According to Mike Rodak of ESPN Boston, the “odds are against” S Patrick Chung re-signing with the team.
Rodak mentions that because the Patriots have Devin McCourty, Steve Gregory and Tavon Wilson still on their roster, allowing to leave would have a minimal effect of the depth at safety.
New England’s secondary has struggled considerably in recent years, but it’s not as though they would be losing a Pro Bowl caliber player in Chung. He was rated as the No. 39 best safety in the league by Pro Football Focus, so he’s at least a serviceable player.
We have him listed as the No. 55 best available player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.

When Can We Expect Tom Brady’s Wife Gisele Bündchen To Come Out With Excuses For The Patriots Star’s 25 In completions?
It is hard to believe we haven’t heard from Tom Brady’s wife about her husbands terrible play in the AFC Championship game. Last year Gisele had plenty to say when Brady lost the game. Sunday in the loss to the Ravens, Brady threw the ball 54 times only completing 29 of those passes. Tom Brady played poorly and by now I expected Bündchen to come out with an excuses for his poor...

Vote: If the Patriots Can Re-Sign Either Wes Welker or Aqib Talib, Who Would You Choose?
The Patriots have some tough decisions to make now that their season is over.
Two key players are free agents after this season, and each played a major role in the AFC Championship Game. If you had to choose, which player would you pick for the Patriots to re-sign, Aqib Talib or Wes Welker?
Talib was only on the team for half a season, but he made a major impact in New England...

Pats season ends with "crash landing" and no title
Tom Brady stood helplessly with his hands on his hips after his tipped pass was intercepted. He walked slowly to the sideline, removed his helmet and sat on the bench.
A fourth-quarter comeback chance was gone. The end of his season was less than seven minutes away.
Playoff games leave teams with ''either euphoria or crash landing.

LB talks Wes Welker’s wife, Tim Brown, Manti Te’o hoax on New Era Radio
This has been a busy week in the sport world. The conference championship games took place, the Super Bowl is coming up, Tim Brown suggested Bill Callahan sabotaged the Raiders, and of course there is the whole Manti Te’o hoax.
I joined my friends at New Era Radio on Tuesday to talk about multiple subjects. We discussed the Patriots-Ravens rivalry; Tom Brady’s slide on Ed Reed...
Belichick: 'You'll have to deal with me again next year'
Bill Belichick gave fair warning Monday — even when no one asked — that he and his gray hoodies will still prowl the sidelines of the New England Patriots or at least another season.
At the head coach's season-ending press conference Monday— a day after the Patriots got trounced by the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game — a glum Belichick told the media:...

Wes Welker’s Wife Follows Gisele Bundchen’s Lead, Calls Out Ray Lewis After Patriots Loss
Et tu, Anna?
Nary a year since Gisele Bundchen made herself famous among sports fans for her profanity-riddled defense of her husband, Wes Welker‘s new bride has jumped into the fray. Welker’s wife, however, should get some credit for ripping the Patriots’ opponents rather than the Patriots themselves this time.

Ed Reed Says Tom Brady Apologized For Kick Slide, Harbors No Hard Feelings
One of the most controversial plays of Sunday’s AFC Championship game came at the end of the second quarter when Tom Brady scrambled out of the pocket and slid cleats high into Ravens safety Ed Reed. Not only did the slide look to be a dirty, unsportsmanlike play by Brady, it was resulted in a case of terrible time management that might have cost the Pats seven points at the end...
Sports Media Musings: Patriots Blame Game & Media Notes From Championship Sunday
None of the subsequent text you’re about to read matters; just as none of the endless hours of conversation breaking down the Patriots 28-13 defeat at the hands of the Ravens matters. You want storylines? There are plenty. You want culprits? There are plenty. But remember – and I can’t stress this enough – none of these narrative arcs really matter.
