Of course this draft matters for the Redskins. But, aside from hoping they draft linemen and defensive backs, it has no buzz for the Skins. Probably because they don’t have a first-rounder nor do they need a QB, and I don’t know any college players that aren’t QBs.
Plus, the Skins haven’t had good fortune in the second round. Washington is clearly one of the worst-drafting teams overall, and the second round has been particularly unkind:
1980 — Matt Mendenhall
1982 — Vernon Dean
1983 — Richard Williams
1984 — Bob Slater and Steve Hamilton
1985 — Tory Nixon
1986 — Markus Koch and Walter Murray
1987 — Brian Davis and Wally Kleine
1988 — Chip Lohmiller
1990 — Andre Collins
1992 — Shane Collins
1993 — Reggie Brooks
1994 — Tre Johnson
1995 — Cory Raymer
1997 — Greg Jones
1998 — Stephen Alexander
1999 — Jon Jansen
2001 — Fred Smoot
2002 — Ladell Betts
2003 — Taylor Jacobs
2006 — Rocky McIntosh
2008 — Devin Thomas, Fred Davis and Malcolm Kelly
2011 — Jarvis Jenkins

The Washington Redskins used their 85th pick in the third round on Tight End Jordan Reed, 6-2, 236 lbs. Reed is often compared to New England Patriots Tight End Aaron Hernandez. Very few prospects go through as many positional changes on one side of the ball as Jordan Reed did at Florida. As a quarterback...
The first round of the NFL draft was a weird one this year. Only one quarterback, two wide receivers and a tight end were taken as far as offensive skill players go, not to mention the fact that for the first time in the history of the draft no running-backs were drafted in the first round. NFL News: The Washington Redskins have waived wide receiver Darius Hanks because of a failed physical. This is not a surprise as Darius was put on injured reserve during the preseason last year. He suffered shoulder and clavicle injuries in August of 2012. He was an undrafted rookie out of Alabama and will begin the search for another club to tryout for.
During his career at Alabama...
NO HALF MEASURES
On Wednesday, Mike Shanahan acknowledged some missteps in the handling of RGIII's injury last season, and says his superstar won't be back on the field until he's at full strength.
In 2012, the Washington Redskins finished with a record of 10-6 (5-1), which was good enough to earn them a NFC East division title. Coming into the 2013 season, Washington is returning 21 of 22 starters of which five suffered season ending injuries preventing them from being a part of the success of the team. Assuming that these players are going to be in good health and contributing...
2.19 Washington Redskins David Amerson, CB, N.C. State (6-1, 205)
Amerson is very gifted physically, possessing both size and strength along with great confidence and aggressiveness to be a solid starting cornerback in the NFL. Adjusting on the fly while opposing quarterbacks make progression reads, the one true knock on him is his speed. Both accelerating and change of direction...
Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan claims that he doesn’t want Robert Griffin III to rush things during their offseason workouts.
“One thing I don’t want to do is see anything go too quick,” Shanahan said, per the Washington Examiner. “Mother nature will take its course. That takes time. The thing I love about Robert is that he works the muscles around it and...
