Found May 14, 2014 on NFL Trade Rumors:
Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Green Bay Packers have reached a four-year, $2.364 million deal with fifth-round pick WR Jared Abbrederis. Wilson adds that the terms include a signing bonus of $144,560. Abbrederis was highly productive at the University of Wisconsin where he caught 78 balls for 1,081 yards in his senior season, while also handling some of the punt return duties. His production is even more impressive when considering that he walked on to the team as a freshman. Like most late round picks, Abbrederis will be expected to contribute primarily on special teams early. With a solid crop of wide receivers, Green Bay will have the luxury of easing him into his role in the offense.   The post Packers Agree To Deal With Fifth-Round Pick WR Jared Abbrederis appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.

Will Inside Linebacker Be Last Year’s Safety?

Ted Thompson did some very good things in the 2014 NFL Draft, but it is the one thing that he didn’t do that could prove detrimental to the Packers’ Super Bowl chances. Last year, Thompson didn’t address the safety position during the offseason, which was clearly a glaring need. The result was terrible, as the Packers were the only team in the NFL not to get an interception...

Green Bay Packers Sign WR Jeff Janis; Cut CB James Nixon

The Green Bay Packers didn’t waste much time getting their draft picks signed, as the team agreed to terms with wide receiver Jeff Janis and cut cornerback James Nixon in order to make room on the roster, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel’s Tyler Dunne reports. Janis, a seventh-round pick  in the 2014 NFL Draft from Division II’s Saginaw Valley State, was dominant last season...

Packers GM Ted Thompson: Drafting Richard Rodgers Not Connected to Jermichael Finley

While Jermichael Finley’s NFL future is currently unclear, there is one aspect of his drama that I consider a safe bet; the Green Bay Packers do not want to let him go. Finley, who suffered a severe, possibly career-ending spine/neck injury in last season’s Week 7 win over the Cleveland Browns, caught 223 passes for 2,785 yards during his six seasons with the team, making him...

Closer Examination of the Packers Picks on Defense (with video)

New Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Well kids it is over, the draft has finished. Ted Thompson has done something he has never done before in the draft, he didn’t make a trade. I am a bit shocked by that.   From all my research and reading in the post draft hullabaloo, I see the usual ********, the fan GM’s crying that I would have taken this or that player, this one was rated...

Grading the Green Bay Packers draft picks

1st round (#21 overall): Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama The Packers’ front office must have been pleasantly surprised when a top-10 talent fell into their lap at 21.  Ha Ha Clinton-Dix was widely regarded as the best safety in this draft because he possesses unique ball skills and is a great open-field tackler. Clinton-Dix should be an immediate starter in a secondary that lacks...

Dom Capers’ Time of Reckoning Has Arrived

Dom Capers will have Mike McCarthy looking over his shoulder more frequently in 2014. It might be a year or two too late for some Green Bay Packers fans, but it seems head coach Mike McCarthy has finally put his foot down and had it up to here with shortcomings on the team’s defense. His message to defensive coordinator Dom Capers, especially in the wake of last week’s NFL Draft...

It is not that Rodgers has...

Packers hope to strike second-round WR gold again with Adams

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Greg Jennings. Jordy Nelson. Randall Cobb. Davante Adams? The list of wide receivers selected in the second round by the Green Bay Packers is arguably the most impressive aspect of Ted Thompson's 10 drafts as general manager. But when Adams' name was called with the No. 53 overall pick, Thompson didn't want to think about similar past successes. "...

Paul Imig's May 13 Packers mailbag

From Earl, Pewaukee: What grade would you give the Packers for this draft? I say a C. I see maybe one impact player. A: I don't officially give an immediate-reaction post-draft grade, but since you asked, I'd go with either a B or B-plus. The Packers hit three of their four biggest needs, though, as I wrote Monday, it's fair to wonder whether the one need they didn'...

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers Dating Actress Olivia Munn

It doesn't suck to be Aaron Rodgers. For one--he's the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers. I can think of many other jobs that suck so much more than that one (not blogging of course). If that wasn't enough he collects an insane paycheck for playing a game, even more for his commercial appearances, and dates an extremely hot young actress--Olivia Munn!So in case you...

Aaron Rodgers and Olivia Munn reportedly dating

Does Aaron Rodgers have a new lady in his life? Or, more accurately, has Olivia Munn already moved on to someone new? US Weekly reports that Rodgers and Munn are dating and this supposedly is coming just two weeks after Munn’s split with actor Joel Kinnaman was announced. Rodgers and Munn were at a restaurant […]

Pakcers hope JerMichael Finley will be back with them next season

Tweet Last season, former Green Bay Packers tight end JerMichael Finley suffered a sever neck injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the season as well as threatened to end his NFL career. With Finley currently available as a free agent, the Packers are hoping Finley would be open to returning to their team next season. “In my mind he is a Green Bay Packer — hopefully...

Green Bay Packers Sign Draft Picks Jared Abbrederis and Corey Linsley

The Green Bay Packers, in their continuing hurry to sign all of their 2014 draft picks, have agreed to terms on contracts with WR Jared Abbrederis and Center Corey Linsley, team GM Ted Thompson announced last night. The pair of new Packers both products of the Big Ten from Wisconsin and Ohio State, respectively, were each taken by Green Bay in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft...

2014 NFL Draft Grades: NFC North

Green Bay Packers:Best Pick: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S, AlabamaWorst Pick: Richard Rodgers, TE, CaliforniaAnalysis: The Packers first to picks were a huge success. Clinton-Dix should be a starter from day one and help improve their secondary. Davante Adams is a tough, productive receiver who should help replace James Jones relatively easily. The third round is where the Packers draft...
