Green Bay Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari is one of the best success stories in football. Even before he returned to dominance at left tackle after several setbacks to his torn ACL, he still had defied the odds in his pro career. Bakhtiari was drafted in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Since them, he has become a Hall of Fame caliber lineman. Even after spending his entire pro career (thus far) in Green Bay, he still remains close to the program that developed him: the University of Colorado Boulder. Colorado is currently looking to fill its head coaching vacancy, and Bakhtiari has an ideal candidate in mind.

David Bakhtiari wants Deion Sanders to become Colorado’s Head Coach

One of the hottest names in college coaching is Deion “Prime Time” Sanders. The Pro Football Hall of Famer is currently the head coach at Jackson State University. He was hired In September of 2020 and coached his first game for the university in February of 2021. Jackson State, of course, was best-known for producing arguably the greatest running back in the history of the NFL, Walter Payton. Coach Prime has put the program back on the map, and finished the 2022 season with a perfect 11-0 record.

Due to his tremendous success at Jackson State, Sanders is garnering interest from several Power Five schools for their open coaching positions. One of them is Bakhtiari’s alma mater, Colorado. When he heard that Colorado was interested in Sanders, Bakhtiari took to Twitter to voice his support:

Deion Sanders, of course, is one of the best athletes of all time. A Pro Football Hall of Famer and All-Star in Major League baseball, he became the first person to ever play a NFL and MLB game on the same day. He definitely is “Prime Time,” and will bring a large amount of juice to whatever team he is a part of.
