NFL Injury Report:
Following the less than flattering pictures that circulated last week regarding his weight issues and his fighting the flab, second round draft pick, Eddie Lacy hit back with a vengeance this weekend with his eyes on securing the No.1 running back berth for the Green Bay Packers.
Lacy promptly was rewarded for the effort Tuesday, taking the first rep in every running-back drill.
Even with strong camps from fellow rookie
Johnathan Franklin and a
reinvigorated James Starks, Lacy is now viewed
as the favourite to open the season as the starter.
With DuJuan Harris on the PUP/reserve list for the first six games of the season, it appears that the job is there for the taking even if Alex Green took the first snap of camp. Expect Lacy - a national champion with Alabama - to take the first hand-off from Aaron Rodgers in September.

Despite reports that rookie Eddie Lacy looked out of shape early in training camp, the Alabama product is now expected to be the team’s starting running back when the season opens. On SportsCenter Wednesday afternoon, ESPN’s Rob Demovsky said that Lacy has been impressive in camp and is “going to be their starting running back.” Lacy missed practice on Wednesday due to a...
Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson was very impressed with what he saw from rookie running back Eddie Lacy during last weekend’s scrimmage.
“He looked a lot like he did at Alabama,” said Thompson, regarding Lacy’s performance.“He’s a very decisive runner, he’s strong, he’s powerful, he’s big. He puts a lot of pressure on a defense I think because if...
We reported earlier today that Packers running back Eddie Lacy wasn’t practicing today.

Despite recovering from a toe injury that caused him to drop
in the recent NFL Draft, Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy has
impressed his new team when he’s been on the field. That wasn’t the case
yesterday, as Lacy was sidelined by a hamstring injury, causing him to miss
practice. While hamstring’s can be tricky injuries that have a knack of
lingering for extended...
There has been a lot of debate over who will be the starting RB for the Packers. Last week the picture of Lacy looking like Ron Dayne with dreads surfaced and Twitter went berserk. The Packers will run more than people think and could set Lacy up for plenty of short TDs, if they don’t give it to Kuhn or something stupid like that.
ESPN’s Rob Demovsky had this to say about...
Packers rookie running back Eddie Lacy did not practice on Wednesday, according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.Fantasy Spin:Lacy has been a standout player during training camp and should be the opening day starter. We await word of the reason he didn't practice.
It didn’t take long for Green Bay Packers rookie Eddie Lacy to take control of the training camp battle to be the team’s starting running back – in fact, it took him just one live performance to show the Packers he is exactly what they thought he was going to be.
Sure it was only a preseason intra-squad scrimmage but the fact that Lacy carried the ball eight times for 65 yards...
Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb left practice early on Tuesday with a bicep injury. The Good news is that he returned to practice today.

Rookie running backs are often very tempting to grab in the middle rounds of a fantasy draft. The potential for an unlimited ceiling and keeper value is difficult to overlook. This year the depth at RB is unbelievably shallow. The top tier is well established, but moving outside of the top 20 gets ugly, and leaves a lot to chance. 2013 is not the year to take that chance on a rookie...
Despite the emergence of rookie Eddie Lacy during last weeks scrimmage, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy isn’t ready to name him as their starting running back.
McCarthy told the media today that DuJuan Harris is their starting back right now.
“I’m excited to see when DuJuan Harris comes back, because I view him as our starter,” McCarthy told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday...
Eddie Lacy was the star of the Green Bay Packers' intrasquad scrimmage last Saturday night. But coach Mike McCarthy isn't ready to give the rookie the starting halfback job quite yet at least not until he gets a look at DuJuan Harris.
"I'm excited to see when DuJuan Harris comes back because I view him as our starter" McCarthy told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday...
