GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings has been officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts. During Green Bay's win over the New Orleans Saints last weekend, Jennings aggravated the injury he initially suffered in Week 1 and left the game early. Jennings missed Week 2, and the two-time Pro Bowl selection has only 12 catches for 78 yards in three games. It's uncommon for a team to rule out a player on Thursday, but coach Mike McCarthy said he felt it was best to shut Jennings down for the week. On Wednesday, Jennings, who will be seeking a lucrative long-term contract after this season, talked about his frustration with a season that has included the groin injury and a lengthy absence with a concussion in the preseason. "I'm trying to not let it completely overtake me and let it become overwhelming," he said. "Again, seven years playing this game at this level I've never experienced what I've experienced this year. It's new territory for me, but I'm getting through it. I knew it was going to be an up-and-down type of situation, one that I was going to have to push through. Obviously, the game on Sunday, it grabbed me and gradually got worse and worse, so I shut it down." He also said he might not return again until he's 100 percent. "However long it takes, so I won't have to sit and answer these same questions again," he said. "We don't know what the timetable is. All I know is we're going to take it one day at a time." And he's taking the same approach with a big payday possibly on the line if the injuries continue. "Honestly, I'm not even focused on that," Jennings said. "I just need to get back on the field and be 100 percent. Contract, that's going to take care of itself. It's going to be what it's going to be. I can't predict the future. I couldn't predict this. It is what it is. If I can get back out there and be 100 percent, my performance will speak for itself. I'm not concerned about that, not at all. I'm not concerned about contract. You guys may be, possibly everybody more than I am." Follow Paul Imig on Twitter.
