NFL Injury Report:
After failing to trade Desmond Bishop, the Green Bay Packers
are preparing to cut ties with the linebacker, according to ESPN Milwaukee.
According to an NFL source, barring an unlikely contract
restructure or trade, the Packers will be parting ways with Bishop, who missed
all of last season with a ruptured hamstring tendon suffered in the Aug. 9
preseason opener at San Diego.
Bishop joined the Packers in 2007, and he developed into a
starter for the team in 2010. He totaled 115 tackles in 2011, but he was sidelined
for the entire 2012 season due to a hamstring injury. He continues to be held
out of action as he continues to work his way back to 100 percent.
While he’s nearing that point and hoping to get back on the
field soon, it looks like it will have to happen with another team. The only
chance of Bishop remaining with Green Bay would appear to be if he’s willing to
restructure his current contract. He doesn’t seem to be willing to do so just
because he’s been off the field for a while, as he still believes in what he
can do once he returns healthy.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick gave the Green Bay Packers a pop quiz on the read-option in the 2012 playoff. They failed. The result was Kaepernick running wild and jettisoning the Packers from the playoffs with little regard. A lack of preparation and the fact the 49ers had run the offense in only the previous three games, made a perfect storm for the Packers...
GREEN BAY, Wis. In an offseason that's been filled with questions about the Green Bay Packers' unproductive running game of recent years, coach Mike McCarthy finally felt comfortable enough to strongly proclaim his confidence that the 2013 season won't be like the three that preceded it.
"We'll be better, I can promise you that," McCarthy said Tuesday...
GREEN BAY, Wis. Terrell Manning was told not to worry. Multiple visits to the Green Bay Packers' training room during the 2012 preseason revealed that the rookie inside linebacker simply had a stomach ache.
Weeks went by with Manning sleeping less than two hours per day, spending most of his nights confined to the restroom. When his pain reached an excruciating level, Manning...
The Packers are trying to force more fumbles and Desmond Bishop and Charles Woodson were two of the best on the team. Thus, a report of Bishop's possible release makes little sense, beyond dollars and cents.
GREEN BAY, Wis. The six-year relationship between the Green Bay Packers and inside linebacker Desmond Bishop appears to be heading for a split. According to multiple reports, the Packers plan to release or trade Bishop unless they can agree to a restructured contract soon.
Bishop, 28, is scheduled to make 3.46 million for the 2013 season and 3.52 million for the 2014 season as...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers added a 12th wide receiver to their 90-man roster on Tuesday, signing one of the fastest players in pre-draft history in Terrell Sinkfield.
Sinkfieldcaused a stir with his blazing 40-yard dash speed back in March at the University of Minnesota pro day. He clocked in at 4.19 seconds in his second attempt in the 40-yard dash. That's faster...
Gilbert Pena, the Packers' 26-year-old rookie defensive tackle, gave up football and school for four years to be with his cancer-stricken mom. She's beaten the cancer and now Pena hopes to beat the odds as an undrafted free agent.

Sometimes rainy days can be fun. The Packers headed indoors and played a little dodgeball. The team captained by quarterback Aaron Rodgers won their first two matches and then squared off for bragging rights, with Rodgers’ squad winning it all. Rodgers clearly knows the five D’s of Dodgeball.-TO

There's no doubting Terrell Manning's toughness. Last training camp, a weak and sleep-deprived Manning went to the hospital yet practiced, anyway. His nasty bout with colitis behind him, Manning is ready to show the Packers' three-pick investment wasn't wasted.
