Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis has suffered three ACL injuries in the same knee over a 23-month span.
Although faced with another extensive rehabilitation process, Davis insists he will not be denied.
"Every day I go in I'm looking at it like I'm making history. That's my goal," the 28-year-old Davis told the Charlotte Observer.
"From now on when you see certain things happen to guys, certain injuries, there will be more teams that will be more willing to give guys opportunities based on a guy they can point out, 'Look at Thomas Davis down in Carolina. He came back from three to the same knee and he's able to play, and he's playing at a high level.'"
The 14th overall pick of the 2005 draft, Davis collected a career-high 114 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 2008-09. He has played in nine games since that campaign.
