Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart appears to be on track to see his first action of the season this Sunday, when the Panthers host the Atlanta Falcons. David Newton of ESPN.com reports Panthers head coach Ron Rivera was optimistic Stewart would be available against the Falcons this week.

Newton reports Jonathan Stewart practiced in full pads Wednesday for the first time since last season. Stewart has been sidelined since last November with an ankle injury that required surgery in the offseason.
