Green Bay Packers
New Mexico State Aggies
With Pat Lee headed out of Green Bay and Jarrett Bush re-signed for three years, the Packers’ defensive back situation is looking more and more clear for next season.
Pat Lee’s four years with the Packers have to be considered a disappointment after being drafted in the 2nd round with the 60th overall pick. Lee struggled to make an impact on defense and failed to stick as a return man, but was a contributor in Super Bowl XLV following Charles Woodson’s shoulder injury. Although it didn’t show on the stats (1 tackle), Lee was decent enough to keep the Packers from complete collapse defensively.
There are no immediate plans to move Charles Woodson to safety, so he will continue to cover the slot with Tramon Williams and Sam Shields working the outside. Jarrett Bush will continue to be the team’s fourth cornerback with Davon House taking Pat Lee’s spot behind Bush. That would leave one more roster spot if the Packers keep six corners like they did last season. Brandian Ross from the pr...

2011 Packers Yearbook: Most Frustrating Player
(Be sure to place your vote in the poll below.)
Adam: Tramon Williams. It was very frustrating watching Williams go from a top-tier CB to a complete mess. Hopefully a better pass rush and a fully-healed shoulder gets him back on track in 2012.
Al: So many candidates… I’ll stay away from the obvious choice (cough… Finley… cough…...
Not gonna lie, I love those Discount Double-Check commercials. All three of them. I think the Clay Matthews one might be my favorite, just because of how down Rodgers seems with the whole phenomenon and how nonchalant Matthews is when Rodgers questions him. Anyhoo, moving to cards, I picked up three Rodgers Rookies for about the price of a blaster after tax. I was fortunate enough...
Packers welcomed back a familar face on Friday
The signing of five-time Pro Bowl center Jeff Saturday was the big news on Friday, but he wasn’t the only veteran added to the Packers roster. GM Ted Thompson also announced the acquisition of Daniel Muir. If that names sounds familiar, it should. The 28-year-old defensive lineman began his career with Green Bay as an undrafted free...
GREEN BAY, Wis. After four disappointing seasons in Green Bay, Pat Lee is no longer with the Packers. The 2008 second-round pick signed a one-year deal with the Oakland Raiders.
There was no reason for Green Bay to keep Lee around any longer. He was unable to crack the top-four spots on the cornerback depth chart, sitting well below Sam Shields and Jarrett Bush for the nickel and...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Ted Thompson has suddenly become quite active in free agency. Just hours after signing center Jeff Saturday, the Packers have added defensive tackle Daniel Muir.
Muir, 28, played for Green Bay as an undrafted rookie in 2007, appearing in three games and recording four tackles. Muir has spent the past four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, where he started 26...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- After 10 days of inactivity in free agency, the Green Bay Packers have agreed to sign longtime Indianapolis Colts center Jeff Saturday, according to multiple internet reports. Terms of the contract are not yet known.
Saturday, a 13-year veteran after going undrafted in 1998, has played his entire career with the Colts. Nearly all of those years were spent snapping...
I can't really take credit for that headline concept (darn it!). That was more or less an ESPN line. Something to the effect that "Jeff Saturday signed Friday to play Sunday." Well done, es-pen, well done indeed.Anyway, the point of all the above is that veteran, venerable, free agent center Jeff Saturday was signed by the Green Bay Packers yesterday. He will replace...

Green Bay lost one Pro Bowl center but replaced him with five-time Pro Bowler Jeff Saturday. Saturday was the unsung hero of those Peyton Manning-led offenses and now he'll work with another line-of-scrimmage maestro in Aaron Rodgers.
The New Orleans Saints aren't the only team that has been toinvestigated by the NFL for running a "bounty" program.
The league also probed the Green Bay Packers in 2007 for a similar program, although the infractions were on a much smaller scale.
The Times-Picayune of New Orleans reported that Green Bay players offered to pay the team's defensive linemen $500...
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Green Bay Packers have signed free agent veteran center Jeff Saturday. We don’t have the specifics of the contract a this time.
Saturday will be 37 years-old by the time the regular begins, I would think he has a year or two left, before he retires.
Saturday was contemplating whether or not he was going to sign with the Titans or possibly...
