Found January 23, 2012 on Boston Sports Media Watch: Yardbarker Blogger Network
Is there anything more miserable than a sports-talk radio caller? Holy crap. I’ve actually heard yesterday’s win described as “disappointing” and that the Super Bowl rematch with the Giants in two weeks “won’t even be competitive.” (with the Giants killing the Patriots) Both of these calls came from self-described “long-time Patriots fans. Here’s a few thoughts on this Monday after the AFC Championship. (If you’re looking for links, PatriotsLinks.com has them.) I found it interesting that in almost two weeks away from the Boston sports radio and TV scene, I had nearly zero thoughts that the Patriots would lose to either the Broncos or Ravens. I knew the Ravens game would be what it was – a slugfest, perhaps even worthy of the sainted Ravens/Steelers battles that the media drools over, but I felt the Patriots would emerge with the win, especially at home. That, Shalise Manza Young, is why it is better to be 13-3 and ...

Patriots coach Belichick continues to strive for consistent approach

Bill Belichick's consistent approach to preparation is the cornerstone of the coaching that has brought the New England Patriots to their fifth Super Bowl in 11 years.

Logistical preparations have begun for trip to Indianapolis

By Brian MacPhersonFor Bill Belichick, the Super Bowl is just like any other game. "I think every game is a big game," he said on a conference call Tuesday when asked about coaching in big games. "I don't know what you mean about which ones are and which ones aren't. They all are." For Belichick, then, the Super Bowl is just like any other road trip...

Belichick: The Best Coach Ever

Before we begin, I must offer full disclosure: I hate the Patriots and I hope Bill Belichick loses to the Giants and then gets embroiled in some kind of awful scandal. Now, despite all that venom, I have the utmost respect for that coldhearted scumbag, and any reasonable fan ought to as well. This will be Belichick’s fifth Super Bowl appearance as a head coach, which would...

Pats favored by Vegas to beat Giants

Las Vegas casinos have made the New England Patriots favorites to win the Super Bowl thanks to their national following, a decade of winning and the playoff mystique of quarterback Tom Brady and coach Bill Belichick. In odds posted Sunday night by Cantor Gaming, the Patriots opened as three-point favorites over the New York Giants after New York beat San Francisco 20-17 in overtime...

Parking Lot Pole at Foxboro taken down, Gronk's Shoulder did not play a part in it

I'd like to say Bill Belichick's ego did, but obviously it was Tom Brady's winning spirit that lead this bulldozer driver to continue his pursuit to finish the job he was planned to do. Billy Cundiff tried to take that pole down just before, but he missed. "Look out! Look out!" Super Bowl Bound: Foxboro : MyFoxBOSTON.com

A look at how much no-huddle offense the Patriots will use… and links!

When the Patriots have needed a boost this year, the answer has been easy. Go no-huddle. Coach Bill Belichick tells them to “Go!” QB Tom Brady starts hurrying everyone up, and they step on the gas. Often with five wides, usually in three minutes or less, the Patriots will move down the field. It has always been a weapon, but we saw it more than ever last week against...

Power Ranking the Top 50 Coaches in the NFL Today

Power Ranking the Top 50 Coaches in the NFL Today: Here’s one of my recent Bleacher Report articles.  Who do you think deserves to be No. 1? Well, Bill Belichick—duh! What about No. 2? Tom Coughlin? Sean Payton?

It’s high-scoring Brady Bunch vs. bullying boys from Baltimore

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The Patriots have not been to the Super Bowl in four years — that qualifies as a drought for the franchise under Bill Belichick. Today, they return to the AFC Championship for the first time since they won it after the 2007 season and went on to lose to...

I’m already blaming Sports Illustrated again

Come on, seriously? Didn’t we go through this with the Vince Wilfork cover last year? Does Sports Illustrated hate us or something? I thought Peter King praises Bill Belichick like he is a god or something. How would he let the magazine do this to us? This is BS. I’m curling up in a ball and rocking back and forth until Super Bowl Sunday. We are only three days into...

Ruskell Paranoia Ends

At least that’s one less thing to worry/complain about. Today’s Chicago Tribune reports that current Bears director of player personnel Tim Ruskell has been eliminated from consideration to be the next GM. According to the article, the finalists are Jason Licht from the Patriots (the guy it is reported has absolutely no control under Bill Belichick) and Phil Emery of...
