Patriots coach Bill Belichick hasn’t said much about the roles of offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien and offensive coordinator-to-be Josh McDaniels. He merely offers that O’Brien is doing everything he can along with his Penn State job, and he’s pleased McDaniels is here. Yesterday on a conference call, he said just a little more. Not a ton… but Belichick did describe their roles and make some things clear. “It’s great to have Josh here,” Belichick said. “Josh was here for a long time. He obviously made a lot of contributions to our team and our success. He and I had a good working relationship; it’s great to have him back. That being said, Billy has continued to do in the last few weeks, everything — since he’s been named the head coach of Penn State, he’s done everything that he’s done this year and last year on a weekly basis.
