Patriots rookie Chandler Jones won't need surgery to repair either of his injured ankles, the defensive end confirmed to CBSSports.com.
Jones piled up six sacks in his first eight games with the Patriots in 2012 but didn't do much down the stretch after injuring his right ankle against the Colts and missing a pair of games after that.
He suffered a left ankle injury during the playoffs against the Texans and was forced to miss New England's matchup against the Ravens.
The rookie out of Syracuse didn't want to pin his lack of success on his injuries, but it's clear that having both ankles banged up wasn't exactly beneficial for Jones and not having his pass-rush presence on the field against Baltimore.

Tom Brady: An uncomfortable breakup on the horizon?
Here are the facts New England Patriots fans need to take some time to think about with regards to Tom Brady. Brady has two years left on his five-year contract extension from 2010, and is due $43,600,000 dollars over the next two seasons. This is partly because he restructured his contact for 2012 to save the Pats some money. It’s always painful to talk about when the Pats will...
The Patriots lost out on another Super Bowl, what do they need to get back? Mock Draft 1.0
The Patriots did not make the Super Bowl, what is their biggest need?
Here is my first look at the NFL Draft. There are a lot of teams that need quarterbacks this year. The problem, there are not enough QB's in the draft.
I expect to see teams trying to trade down, will they have any takers?
1. Chiefs - Bjoern Warner, DE, Florida State

Patriots may not be willing to place the franchise tag on Aqib Talib
A New England Patriots fan asked Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com if the Patriots might be willing to place the franchise tag on cornerback Aqib Talib.
It doesn’t sounds like tagging Talib would make sense for the Patriots.
I think the tag would be around $10.6 million for Talib. I think that’s a little rich on the one-year term, but can I have a little more time to think about that...
Top 5 replacement quarterbacks in NFL history
Former New England Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe was interviewed on ESPN’s Collin Cowherd regarding the San Francisco 49ers quarterback situation. He stated it’s normal to have animosity and to be upset, but it’s how you define the situation that defines you. When Tom Brady replaced Drew Bledsoe it would change the Patriots history forever. Here’s a look at the Top 5...
Danny Amendola could replace Wes Welker in New England
A fan named Joshua asked ESPN’s Adam Schefter if Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola could end up replacing Wes Welker in New England.
It’s definitely possible, Joshua. Amendola is a poor man’s, younger, cheaper Welker. If New England can’t re-sign Welker, it would not be surprising in the least if the Patriots made a run at Amendola. You’re not the first person who has thought...
Patriots and Tom Brady need a deep threat
It's been clearly evident that the New England Patriots struggle to stretch the field vertically. As great of a season as he had, Brandon Lloyd failed to provide the deep attack that the Pats were relying on. Even with virtually no down-field threat, the Patriots had the league's most prolific offense, with most of the credit going to quarterback Tom Brady. Offensive coordinator...

Patriots Re-Sign LB Dane Fletcher
Patriots linebacker Dane Fletcher, who was scheduled to be a restricted free agent this offseason as he recovers from a torn ACL that sidelined him for the entire 2012 season, has re-signed with the team.
Fletcher, who broke the news on his Twitter account, reacted to it on Thursday afternoon.
First and foremost, its good to know where I will be next year. Now Im ready...
Marshall Faulk: The Patriots cheated to beat us
What would be a Super Bowl without talking about SpyGate? It seems to come up every year, and it is rearing its ugly head, once again. This time in the form of an accusation from the former best player on the St Louis Rams, whom the New England Patriots defeated in Super Bowl XXXVI. Former All-Pro and MVP running back Marshall Faulk told CSNNE.com’s Tom Curran, that he believes...
Marshall Faulk still bitter, "cheated out of the Super Bowl" by Patriots
Remember that whole "Spygate" thing? As a Patriots fan, does anyone ever bring that up to you?
Like most things in the media, the perception of spygate got blown way out of proportion. It was cheating, certainly. Did it help? Of course it did, otherwise Belichick wouldn't have been doing it. However, most fans and even analysts kind of got so lost in a game of telephone...
Randy Moss says Kevin Faulk, Patriots taught him 'how to work'
San Francisco 49ers wideout Randy Moss has never been one to mince words. He continued that trend Tuesday during Super Bowl Media Day.The self-proclaimed greatest receiver of all time touched on everything from comparing Jim Harbaugh and Bill Belichick to stating he wasn't happy with his current role. But the former New England Patriot did have some not-so-outlandish things to...
Ed Reed wants to have babies with Bill Belichick, yeah he's signing here
I will go on record right now and predict that Ed Reed will be wearing a Patriots jersey next season. It's just a matter of time. He needs to get done with this whole Super Bowl thing this year, so he can get back to it next year.
I'm not the first one to guarantee this either. Peter King of Sports Illustrated (it's a magazine!) said the same thing before the Pro Bowl...
