It is tough to be more popular on the post-game, handshake and backslap circuit than Patriots DL Gerard Warren. He knows everyone. I asked how many he has come across in his time at Florida and then in his 11 years in the NFL. “Too many to count,” Warren said.
In fact, Warren embraces every part of the game. I asked the 33-year-old when he wants to retire and he said, “when they tear it off me” and he wasn’t kidding. I wrote this in-depth article on Warren in today’s Herald and his love of the game shone through.
“This game is my life, you know?” Warren told me. “Football is my life. This is my life. Sixty minutes, overtime, you can have hatred, you know? Once the game over with, you come back to being human beings again. You know?”
