Patriots LB Jerod Mayo issues a stern warning: The peformance “won’t be good enough any other week.”

The Rap Sheet:
Patriots LB Jerod Mayo saved the day with his interception with 20 seconds left. His pick secured the 34-27 victory over the Redskins, and he did it while battling calf cramps all in the fourth quarter.
He was pretty psyched after the game… even if he was level-headed about it.
“It meant a lot, but at the same time, we feel like it should’ve never gotten to that point,” Mayo said. “We have to continually improve and make the big plays and things like that. Hopefully it’s better next week.”
As for the play, Mayo was in zone coverage, Tracy White deflected it, and there it was.

Patriots downgrade four to OUT, including safety Patrick Chung (again)
The Patriots downgraded four players to out, including a player who was thought to be ready to go.
Safety Patrick Chung, center Dan Connolly, LB Brandon Spikes, and RB Shane Vereen all were declared out for tomorrow’s game against the Redskins. Chung has missed the last month with a foot injury, and I had thought he would be ready. Maybe they are being overly cautious.
As for Spikes...

It wasn’t easy in the nation’s capital (OK, Maryland technically), but the Patriots were able to come away with a win over the Washington Redskins, winning 34-27. The Skins were able to drive down within striking distance of tying the game with under a minute to play, but a Rex Grossman pass to Santana Moss...
