Left guard Logan Mankins (ankle, thigh), right guard Dan Connolly (back), right tackle Sebastian Vollmer (back, knee) and backup tackle Markus Zusevics were all held out of the first session of the week. Tight end Rob Gronkowski (forearm, hip) and defensive end Chandler Jones (ankle) were also out.
Wide receiver Julian Edelman, who suffered a concussion against the Jets, was present at practice, so he has at least passed the first round of tests to get on the field. Players who suffer concussions have to get cleared one more time before playing in a game.
