Much of the mission of the 2010 offseason was to rid the Patriots locker room of problems such as disgruntled linebacker Adalius Thomas. They did, filling it with guys like captain Alge Crumpler, instead.
Is there a direct correlation to the Patriots 6-1 record? That’s one of the topics explored in this article in the New York Times by Judy Battista looking at the Pats’ success.
Owner Robert Kraft provides the money quote.
“It brings me back to the early part of the decade,” Kraft told the Times. “We have one guy who is considered a superstar. We have a great coach, but then we just have a lot of guys. Every game is going to be a battle. What’s fun is I walk through the locker room and you see them talking football. It’s all football. I think of last year and I never really had the feeling in the locker room that it was all business, all the time.”
