The New England Patriots announced Wednesday that they have placed linebacker Jerod Mayo on injured reserve and re-signed defensive tackle Andre Neblett to the 53-man roster. Mayo underwent surgery for a torn pectoral muscle Tuesday.  He suffered his injury in the fourth quarter of the Patriots’ 30-27 victory over the New Orleans Saints last Sunday. Mayo had 55 combined tackles, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery through six games this season. The Patriots previously lost defensive captain Vince Wilfork to a season-ending torn Achilles on Sept. 29. Neblett, 25, was signed by the Patriots Oct. 9, and released last Saturday to make room for Marcus Forston. The Patriots also announced that cornerback Travis Howard has been signed to the practice squad. The post Patriots place Jerod Mayo on injured reserve appeared first on Sports Glory.
