Andre Carter has now officially signed with the Patriots, returning to Foxboro once again. Carter previously played for the Pats in 2011, when he had a career year. Before his injury Carter totaled 10 sacks which still tied for leading on the team that season. He was also honored as a Pro Bowl selection, the first/only time of his career. Unfortunately, the defensive end and Patriots could not come to an agreement on a contract after that season and Carter went on to sign with the Oakland Raiders.
Anyways, Carter is back now and Patriots players are very excited. Safety Devin McCourty, who was in his rookie year and playing corner back at the time Carter was on the team, had very high praise for the veteran and was thrilled to hear of the return:
