I just got off the phone with agent Mark Slough, who represents versatile Patriots running back Sammy Morris. And while there were little answers on a future deal with the Patriots (thanks to the labor situation), he did make one thing clear.
The 33-year-old running back, fullback and special teams isn’t ready to call it a career just yet.
“He’s definitely not retiring,” Slough told me. “He’ll be an unrestricted free agent, and the CBA uncertainty puts us in limbo like everyone else. We’ll see, like everyone else, what it looks like when it’s all said and done. But he has no intention of retiring. He still hopes to be playing football in 2011.”
Slough wouldn’t offer details on Morris’ future with the Patriots, as he just ended his latest contract that paid him $900,000 per year. As a solid locker room voice, a short-yardage fullback and a special teamer, it’s a low-cost option. With Kevin Faulk and Fred Taylor c...
