Patriots running back Stevan Ridley wasn’t made available to reporters following the AFC Championship Game, as he had been knocked out of the game by a powerful hit to the helmet delivered by Ravens safety Bernard Pollard that resulted in a concussion. Ridley has rebounded, as evidenced by his Thursday appearance on ESPN’s “NFL Live” with Steve Levy. Ridley, an LSU alum, was taking in the Super Bowl scene and touched on how it was special for New Orleans to once again be hosting the game. Ridley was also asked what he remembers about the hit from Pollard. “Being completely honest, not much, man,” he said. “Running the football, unfortunately it’s what comes with the sport that we play. It’s a contact sport. He just came down and made a play, tried to make a physical tackle, and that’s what he did. Unfortunately it was me. You hate it any time to see a player go out like that, but it was me this time. All I can say is that I can bounce back and I live to see another day. And I’m thankful.” Ridley was asked by Levy how he is doing after the hit. “I play this game, I love the game that I play, man,” he answered. “People try to downplay it; it’s a contact sport. You can’t be scared playing the game. We all try to be as healthy as we can and try to stay away from injuring each other. At times, it’s going to happen. So all we do is pat each other on the back and keep moving, and I wish the best for the Ravens and also to Bernard Pollard, man.” Source: ESPN.com

Patriots may not be willing to place the franchise tag on Aqib Talib

A New England Patriots fan asked Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com if the Patriots might be willing to place the franchise tag on cornerback Aqib Talib. It doesn’t sounds like tagging Talib would make sense for the Patriots. I think the tag would be around $10.6 million for Talib. I think that’s a little rich on the one-year term, but can I have a little more time to think about that...

Patriots’ owner says agents can mess up and keep Wes Welker from re-signing

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft told CSNNE.com that the key to re-signing wide receiver Wes Welker is to be able to manage the agents and lawyers that are involved so they don’t mess it up. “I’d love him to be around, he’s a great guy,” said Kraft. “Like I said all along, it takes two sides to make a transaction and then we have to manage the lawyers and the agents...

The Patriots may not have made it to the Super Bowl this year, but Gronkowski’s party antics...

Robert Kraft Softshoes Around Questions On Patriots QB Tom Brady's Future

Two years ago, Robert Kraft lamented the "lazy interception" Tom Brady threw early in a playoff loss to the Jets, a description did not go over well with The Brady Camp. Friday at the Super Bowl, the Patriots owner seemed to speak hesitantly when asked if he were concerned about the advanced age of the 35-year-old Brady. "I think he had a remarkable year this...

Rob Gronkowksi: Patriots Tight End Partied Shirtless, With Arm Injury, In Baton Rouge

Gronkowski was photographed by a reddit user partying at a bar named “Bogie’s” in Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge is a good 80 miles...

Patriots Haven't Talked Contract With WR Wes Welker

Patriots owner Robert Kraft would like to keep employing Wes Welker. There seems to be little question that the feeling is reciprocated by the slot receiver. Sentiment, however, doesn't pay the bills, and that's where things get complicated. Kraft noted again yesterday that both sides need to come together to arrange a deal. Of course, the Patriots could use the power move...

Should the Patriots draft a wide receiver?

This is an idea that has been tossed around for a few weeks now. With WRs Wes Welker, Deion Branch, and Julian Edelman all set to become free agents, the Patriots could look to upgrade their wide receiver crew through the draft. Last offseason, the Pats signed Brandon Lloyd to be the big-play guy that they haven't really had since Moss was traded in 2010. Although he proved...
