FOXBORO, Mass. – Marquice Cole wasn’t gone for long.
The Patriots re-signed the veteran cornerback on Monday afternoon after releasing him on Sunday. To make room for Cole, New England released undrafted rookie offensive lineman Josh Kline.
The Patriots signed Cole to a one-year deal in March after the seventh-year veteran spent last season with New England. Cole played 14 games with the Patriots last season, starting one game. He had one interception and three deflected passes.
The Patriots had just four cornerbacks on the roster prior to re-signing Cole. The Northwestern product also worked at safety in the team’s last preseason game.

Jamie McDonald/Getty Images Good news is present for New England Patriots fans and the news involves a key piece of the offense. Tight end Rob Gronkowski was at practice today in full pads for the first time since undergoing multiple forearm surgeries and one surgery on his back this offseason. It is still not realistic to expect Gronkowski to be ready when the Patriots open up...
FOXBORO, Mass. — The window of Patriots practice open to the media is over and three Patriots players were not spotted.
Leon Washington, Will Svitek and Marquice Cole, all of whom were not cut on Saturday afternoon, were not out on the Gillette Stadium practice field to begin the session. There were five players spotted that are not on the Patriots’ roster. They were in uniform...
The Patriots entered the morning with 10 offensive linemen and only four cornerbacks. That doesn't make a ton of sense. They've made some moves to correct that today.

Tom Brady has a new commercial for Uggs. NFL AM had an exclusive peek at the commercial below that shows Brady in Uggs going through various stages of his sports life:
Brady catches a lot of heat for rocking the Uggs but the commercial is actually well done. I still won’t be rushing out to get a pair though.
The Patriots have brought back the one wide receiver who made Tim Tebow look good throughout the summer.
New England signed Quentin Sims to the practice squad, according to a source. Sims had a breakout fourth preseason game, catching three passes for 72 yards and two touchdowns, all from Tebow. Sims also caught one pass for 14 yards in the Patriots’ third preseason game against...
New UGG spot with Tom Brady - “For Gamechangers”
The Patriots are continuing an aggressive offseason of cuts and waiver moves with a recent contract restructuring of Michael Hoomanawanui's contract. According to ESPNBoston, Hoo-Man was set to earn $1.3 million in base salary this year; however, with the new contract, he will be most likely receiving less than that.
The new contract is set at $630,000 as a base, with incentives...
The Patriots ran 1,191 plays from scrimmage during the 2012 season, which was just nine short of the all-time NFL record (1994 Patriots). It will be difficult for them to mimic that speed again this season. Wes Welker and Aaron Hernandez are gone and Tom Brady is working with an almost entirely new cast of characters at wide receiver — most of whom are rookies. So, even if speed...
Patriots owner Robert Kraft has had an offseason hasn't he? From Aaron Hernandez arrest to Tom Brady's near-injury to Tim Tebow's release ... his franchise has been in the news. Kraft appeared on CBS News' CBS This Morning Tuesday to discuss the recent concussion lawsuit settlement.
And while he was there Charlie Rose also asked the Patriots owner about Tebow'...
Zoltan Mesko was not out of a job for long.
The charismatic punter, who was a surprising cut by the Patriots on Sunday, has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team announced Monday. Pittsburgh also released incumbent punter Drew Butler, clearing the way for Mesko to start in the Steel City.
Mesko, the first specialist taken in the 2010 NFL draft, had been the Patriots’ starting...
Things didn’t work out for Tim Tebow and the Patriots, even though team owner Robert Kraft wishes they had.
“I love Tim Tebow and I very much wanted him on the team,” Kraft said during an interview with CBS This Morning on Tuesday.
Kraft, sporting a bright blue blazer, pink tie and patented white cuffs, was very candid during a seven-minute interview on the show Tuesday morning...
We're all going to miss Zoltan Mesko, the most interesting man in the NFL
Happy to hear that the only Patriots punter I ever cared about has now found a new job. With the AFC rival Steelers.
Former Pats P Zoltan Mesko, cut the other day, will be signing with the Steelers today.

One of the biggest stories this offseason was the nearly complete revamping of the New England Patriot receiving corps. While no one doubts the ability and resolve of Tom Brady, somebody still must catch the balls he throws. In addition, he lost his primary third down outlet in Danny Woodhead. And need we mention the upheaval among the tight ends? The good news, other than the presence...
