The Rap Sheet:
The Patriots received some positive news today, as CB Devin McCourty was out at practice just a week after separating his shoulder. That’s good. The bad? He was limited and probably won’t play.
We know that because McCourty was listed as doubtful on the injury report that just arrived. Figure he’s out, barring something crazy, but that does seem to indicate it’s a one-week injury. As for LB Brandon Spikes and LB Dane Fletcher, both are out. But WR Wes Welker (knee) is probable.
Check out the Patriots injury report:

Welker now the poster boy for slot stars
Unless you're an SMU fan -- or scouting guru Mel Kiper -- you may not have Cole Beasley's name on the tip of your tongue.
Beasley is the Mustangs' slot receiver, and although he's been toiling in relative anonymity for am average team in an oft-ignored conference, he's an interesting case study.
See, Beasley is a slot receiver.
Even though he catches plenty...

Kickoff for the Patriots-Chiefs game is scheduled for 8:30 p.m., which is still hours away. For the players, it takes foooooooorever. They wait and wait, go to meetings, then wait some more.
