This was Tom Brady’s best game of the year - throw the numbers out and just look at the final result. Fighting throught the adversity is what we're talking about. The Oakland Raider defense applied constant pressure on Brady and he took big hits and bounced back time after time.
One of the storylines this week revolves around Shaun Ellis, the former Jets defensive end who will play his old team on Sunday. We wrote about that earlier this morning. Want to see Ellis talk about it in the locker room? Check out my video:
FOXBORO, Mass. -- Tight end Aaron Hernandez (knee), defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth (back) and defensive lineman Mike Wright (concussion) returned to practice Thursday on a limited basis, according to the Patriots' practice report. There were no other changes from Wednesday's session. Wide receiver Julian Edelman (ankle), linebacker Jerod Mayo (knee), tackle Sebastian...
New England Patriots running back Danny Woodhead is being plagued by a sprained ankle - but it could have been much worse.
Woodhead escaped significant damage when he was tackled during Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders. It is not immediately known how long the 26-year-old Woodhead will be sidelined.
Rookie Stevan Ridley filled in admirably with 97 rushing yards in...
The statistics are not pretty. The Patriots have just six sacks, which is tied for 25th in the league. Their pass defense has struggled, and it doesn’t seem like the front four has helped much.
Once again against the Raiders, there were no sacks and just three quarterback hits. Yet, as I wrote last week, there was a thought among the pass-rushers that they are doing pretty well...
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Wes Welker isn't just amazing his Patriots teammates. He's amazing his opponents.
The New England Patriots received a boost on the injury front with tight end Aaron Hernandez (knee) and defensive linemen Albert Haynesworth (back) and Mike Wright (concussion) returning to practice for Thursday's full-pads session. Meanwhile, running back Danny Woodhead (ankle), receiver Julian Edelman (ankle), linebacker Jerod Mayo (knee) and offensive lineman Sebastian Vollmer...
Antonio Cromartie says he hopes Tom Brady and the New England Patriots target him in the Jets' secondary. Well, the New York cornerback better be careful what he wishes for, especially with the way the Patriots' offense has played.
The Jets have to figure out how to stop Brady, Wes Welker and the high-scoring Patriots, and know it won't be easy.

Patriots All Pro guard Logan Mankins is coming off his best game of the season in Oakland, one in which he held Richard Seymour in check. Mankins knows this week will be even tougher because of the varied fronts the Jets throw at you. “It’s not like Jacksonville, where they line up in one spot…
Shaun Ellis was a dangerous intruder in New England's backfield when he sacked Tom Brady twice in last season's playoffs. He was a welcome addition when he walked into the locker room as a member of the Patriots this year.
Yesterday, we heard from ex-Giants WR Plaxico Burress, who now plays for the Jets. Among other things, he offered detailed recollections of his game-winning catch in Super Bowl XLII, outlining how he beat CB Ellis Hobbs and saying “thank you” for single-coverage.
In today’s Boston Herald, Hobbs joins Burress in describing a play that is one of the NFL’s most indelible. This...
Last Sunday’s Bills-Patriots contest proved to be the NFL’s game of the week, as the upstart Bills fought back from an early 21-0 deficit to defeat their AFC East nemesis and improve to 3-0 on the season.
Fortunately for us, the NFL Films crew was on hand, and had a whole array of players and coaches mic’d up for the game to bring us the sights & sounds...
Dane Fletcher doesn’t spend much time looking for signs of approval from his Patriots coaches.
