The New England Patriots after starting slowly like they always do are now heating up in the free agent market and have inked former Buffalo Bills WR Donald Jones to a contract.  Jones was a restricted free agent but Buffalo failed to tender him so New England will not lose a draft pick for him. Jones is 25 years old, 6’ and 208 lbs and was undrafted out of Youngstown State in 2010.  In three seasons in Buffalo he caught 82 balls for 887 yards and 6 TD’s. Last season many thought Jones was Buffalo’s 2nd best receiver when he had 41 catches for 443 yards and 4 TD’s.  He also started 10 of the Bills 16 games in 2012 and even though he missed 4 games with an injury he played 66% of the Bills offensive snaps. Jones was extremely disappointed when the Bills didn’t tender him and I am sure that will be a huge motivational factor for him and a reason for signing with the Patriots. If you don’t remember Jones you damn well should, last season he killed New England with 8 catches for 164 yards and 2 TD’s including a 68-yard catch and run.  In Buffalo’s 2011 win over New England he had 5 catches for 101 yards. In five career games against the Patriots he has 18 catches for 318 yards and 2 TD’s and Bill Belichick never forgets a guy who scorches his team.  Just ask Wes Welker.
