New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady left practice early yesterday after being hit on his left knee, the one that caused him to miss the 2008 season. It appears the Patriots dodged a bullet, as Brady has since been diagnosed with a minor knee sprain, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. For #Patriots QB Tom Brady and his not-serious knee injury: I'm told it's a sprain. More tests tonight. — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 14, 2013 ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported last night that Brady will be re-examined this morning, and if all goes well he is likely to return to practice today. Patriots will re-examine Tom Brady in the morning, but one source said the quarterback is likely to practice Thursday. — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) August 14, 2013 The injury occurred during a joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Defensive end Adrian Clayborn told reporters after the session that he bull-rushed Patriots offensive tackle Nate Solder, who fell into Brady. While Brady gave everyone in New England a scare, his early exit was precautionary. Even if he’s not back at practice today, it doesn’t sound like he’ll be forced to miss much time as a result of the minor sprain. Follow @TheNFLInjuryRpt Looking for fantasy football advice?
