It's almost as if Pete Carroll has been building his defense just to stop his former employers. That's how well the Seattle defense matches up with the Patriots' high-powered offense. Of course, the Seahawks' defense is so well-balanced, you could probably say that for any opponent they're facing. When the Patriots want to run outside, they'll run into Red Bryant and K.J. Wright. When they want to run up the middle, they'll run into underrated nose tackle Brandon Mebane. When they want to pass to one of their many talented tight ends, they'll find just as many big, fast pass defenders that match up perfectly. Because the Seahawks match up so well, the Patriots will need to find mismatches and exploit them in order to move the ball in "The Clink" as Seahawks fans affectionately call Century Link Field in Seattle. The Seahawks defense is great, but it's also methodical. When the Seahawks expect run, they play mostly in a base ...

Seahawks' Best Defense in NFL Will Provide Dangerous Matchup for Patriots' Offense Sunday

Pete Carroll has quietly been building an immoveable force over in the Pacific Northwest and it's time to take notice. Through five games, the Seahawks lead the NFL in total defense, allowing just 258.6 yards per game. What's scarier is how well balanced the team is. They're fifth in pass yards allowed (192 per game) and third in rushing yards allowed (66.6 per game)...

Carroll revisits past with Seattle facing Patriots

Pete Carroll doesn't look back on his time as the head coach in New England with any animosity, because the way that experience changed him eventually led to his success at USC and another chance in the NFL with Seattle. Carroll revisits some of his NFL past this week when the Seahawks host the Patriots on Sunday in a matchup between Seattle's No. 1 ranked defense and New...

Pete Carroll has tons of confidence in their rookie quarterback

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll reiterated confidence in Russell Wilson following Seattle’s Week 5 win over Carolina. Wilson was picked off twice, but completed 19 of his other 23 passes for 221 yards and a score.“I thought he played fantastic today,” Carroll said of WilsonThere were rumors earlier in the week that Wilson might get benched for Matt Flynn.  Carroll went on to...

Bruce Irvin earning respect around the league

When Seattle took DE Bruce Irvin in the first roiund everyone was in shock. I remember thinking what a great pick, because the Seahawks had a great scheme to put the thin passer rusher in. Well he is continuing to shine, yesterday he had two sacks in Week 5 and is up to 4.5 for the season.  The Seahawks have already posted 16 sacks in five games this year after managing just 33...

Winning, Seahawks benefit from Newtonian law…

Winning football takes wins.Winning their 3rd game in Week 5, the Seahawks are keeping a simple football formula, defend. The Seahawks limited Carolina’s offense to 223 total yards. Cam Newton had a paltry 141 yards on 41% passing. Carolina’s rushing game was led by Newton’s 42 yards on 7 carries.Wiki, help me out with…Newton’s first law of motion ………..Sir Isaac...

Seattle defense overcomes mistakes

Considering the unique challenges the Carolina offense presented, Pete Carroll believes the Seattle Seahawks' defensive performance against the Panthers could be the best since he returned to the NFL as Seattle's coach in 2009. The Seahawks leaned on their defense heavily in Sunday's 16-12 win over Carolina to make up for three turnovers early in the second half that...

Earl Thomas: We knew Cam Newton was going to tank

After yesterday’s win over the Panthers, Seahawks safety Earl Thomas said they knew they had a chance at making Cam Newton “tank” if they took away what he wanted to do on offense.“We know he’s a great dual-threat quarterback, but once we bottle it up and frustrate him, we know he’s going to tank a little bit,” Thomas told the Associated Press via NFL.com. “We were...

Rex Ryan on T.O.: 'Never say never'

After Terrell Owens took to Twitter to plead with the Jets to take a flier on him, Jets head coach Rex Ryan didn't say the team would do so but didn't rule it out, either.

Replacement ref stands by Packers-Seahawks Hail Mary call

Lance Easley may go down as one of the most infamous NFL officials of all time, and he only officiated a few regular-season games. As you probably know, Easley is the referee who ruled that Packers cornerback M.D. Jennings and Seahawks receiver Golden Tate had simultaneous possession on this Hail Mary play that gave Seattle a win over Green Bay. The replay appeared to show Easley...

Terrell Owens Just Doesn’t Get It, His NFL Career Is Over Why Would The Jets Take Him?

If Terrell Owens were smart which we all know he is not, he would hang up his football cleats and call it a career. The Jets lining up a corner back at wide receiver isn’t desperate. Remember the guy in Dallas that played both ways? I think his name was Deion Sanders. I don’t care if Ownes took to twitter, sent a telegram, hand a note handed to Rex Ryan or what the case is. The...

VIDEO: Time for a Change?

Seattle Sounders: Team Allowing Fans To Rehire Their Manager

Soundersfc.com There’s an old saying in sports that if management and coaches start listening to the fans then they’ll soon be sitting with them. This could very well come true in North America’s Major League Soccer (MLS) as the Seattle Sounders are allowing the team’s fans to decide the fate of general manager Adrian Hanauer. The Sounders, who average the highest attendance...
