Wes Welker caught 10 of his game-high 12 receptions in the first half to help the Patriots get out to a lead they would never relinquish in a 23-16 win. He finished with 103 receiving yards and a touchdown and in the process, he went over 1,000 yards for the season, marking the fifth time he accomplished the feat.
That was the 17th time in his career with 10 or more, tying him with 49ers legend and Hall of Famer Jerry Rice for most in NFL history.
Any time youre in the same sentence as Jerry Rice on anything, its definitely something to take pride in, Welker said following the win. But, at the same time, youve just got to move forward and keep playing and keep on trying to do well.
For good measure, Welker also set the NFL record for 10-plus catch games that also included 100-plus receiving yards, as he now has 16. Hes been the model of consistency in his five-plus seasons as a Patriot, since arriving via trade from Miami.
I definitely pride myself on it, Welker said. I always try to show up and just do my job on a consistent basis. Thats definitely a key part. Source: Boston Herald Attached Thumbnails

Patriots Win 4th Straight AFC East Title, 10th since 2000.

And that was the case once again in Miami in December. They should move Halloween to...

Thanks To Tomato Can Schedule, Amos Alonzo Kraft and Patriots Gifted Into 10th AFC East Title in 12 Years

The losing coach wasn’t happy...

Sebastian Vollmer, Julian Edelman active
There was some talk that Sebastian Vollmer might not play based on how he was acting in pre-game warmups. He apparently took his helmet off in frustration and then walked off with offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia and the team's trainer. Worry no more though, Vollmer is active. And so is Julian Edelman.Patriots inactives: Gronk, Mankins, Jones, Shiancoe, Petrus, Develin...

Jeff Howe's column in the Boston Herald this morning points out something very interesting about the Dolphins. They may be ranked seventh in the NFL against the run, but that doesn't tell the whole story. The Dolphins were excellent against the run in their first five games, and that’s why their place in the season-long pecking order is so high. They allowed 61.4 rushing...
