The Cleveland Browns had the services of running back Peyton Hillis today. Hillis rushed for 65 yards on 19 carries as the Browns fell to the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 in what has been described as a heartbreak by many. Hillis who has been missing in action for weeks after pulling a hamstring said he was 100% just the other day. Today he showed he could still move a pile and helped the Browns get some first downs in tough yardage situations. Peyton looked a little rusty as he took to the field this afternoon. I guess it is to be expected after just one day of practice in weeks. Hillis didn’t run as well as we have seen him in the past. He did however make a positive contribution to the Browns offense today.  The Browns have a tough schedule coming over the next several weeks and can use the services of Hillis. Lets hope he can stay active and continues to try to get back to his old self. So far this season Hillis only has 276 yards rushing. Not good for a guy who wants a contract ext...

Welcome Back, Peyton Hillis

Peyton Hillis didn’t have the greatest game of his career in his return to the field, but it was still notable.  After a few weeks seeing the Browns suffer along with practice-squad signees it was good to have Hillis back rumbling for yardage.  I don’t mean to take anything away from Chris Ogbonnaya and his 100-yard game a week ago against Jacksonville, but that performance...

Browns running back Peyton Hillis returned to practice Friday and is optimistic he'll be ready to play Sunday in Cincinnati.

Browns Injury Update: Peyton Hillis, Montario Hardesty Active and Expected To Play

It’s been the topic du jour in Cleveland all season, and this week was no different as the status of Peyton Hillis went from doubtful to questionable late in the week. Coming into Sunday, the Browns thought the running back would be able to play. They also expected his backup, Montario Hardesty, to be active and able to play on Sunday in Cincy. It’s now official, as both Hillis...

Week 13 Waiver Wire: Peyton Hillis Making His Way Back

Peyton Hillis will creep back into the waiver-wire spotlight this week after his game against the Bengals Sunday. I had been trying my best to avoid the Browns backfield like the plague in recent weeks. Chris Ogbonnaya has his moments, but he clearly isn’t the running back of the future. Monterio Hardesty had a chance to make a claim for the starting job going into Week 12′s...

Browns RB Hillis to play vs. Bengals for first time since Week 6

He's baaaack. Cleveland running back Peyton Hillis is active for the first time since Oct. 16, as the Browns visit the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

Idle chatter: On the Battle For Ohio

1. The Bengals are reeling a bit. The Browns won a game last week. Anything to read into that?PAT MCMANAMON: No. Nothing, nothing at all. These things happen, and over the course of a season they even out and teams settle into what they are. That will begin to happen Sunday. ZAC JACKSON: Now, no. If the Browns can put four good quarters together and win in Cincinnati, then the Bengals...

Week 12 Open Thread: Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Coming off their first win in a month, the Cleveland Browns travel down Interstate 71 to face the Cincinnati Bengals in the “Battle of Ohio.” The Bengals are 6-4 and looking to stay in the AFC playoff race after a critical road loss in Baltimore last week. This is the first week of a particularly rough final stretch of the schedule, as the Browns have 5 division games scheduled...

Browns Expected To Seek A Long-Term Deal For LB D'Qwell Jackson

There are no talks currently going on for a new contract for Browns linebacker D'Qwell Jackson, who can be a free agent after this season. But a league source said the inactivity is no reason to believe the Browns won't make a concerted pitch to tie up Jackson long-term before free agency rolls around in March. "I'm sure they're going to wait to see how they...
