Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning went down late in Denver’s 28-20 win against the San Diego Chargers after completing a 9-yard pass to Demaryius Thomas. “I don’t know,” Manning said when asked what’d happened, via the team’s website. “I think somebody was around my feet. I have to see the play. I don’t know who it was or what happened exactly, but they were near my lower limbs.” Manning stayed down for awhile after he was hit low by Chargers defender Corey Liuget. “Well, I figure after we got that first down that we were going to be able to keep it on the ground and handoff,” said Manning. “I didn’t think we were going to be running many sprintouts or naked bootlegs at that point so I felt OK to stay in and finish it out. Just with getting the snaps from Manny and the ballhandling, you don’t want to risk anything in that situation.” Manning remained in the game since Denver was charged with an injury timeout. “I saw them call timeout so I was going to take the
