Peyton Manning the most sought after free agent since the Minister of Defense looks to have a lot of options. The top recruiters appear to be the Washington Redskins, the Arizona Cardinals, the Miami Dolphins, and the Vatican.
In an a turn of events the Roman Catholic Church is looking to sign Peyton Manning. The current pope, Pope Benedict, seemed to indicate just that in a recent tweet that they were indeed interested. “18 would look good with 3:16. Lol.”
The Pope has promised to put in a "peyton style" offense if Manning signs. He has also said he is not interested in Randy Moss because of certain conflict of interests. But he did say Randy had God given talents.
It is unclear if he would take Jesus Christ’s lead role, or perhaps someone like St. Peter or John the Baptist. Adam Schefter from ESPN believes the Lord himself would be worth multiple first round picks if they would indeed trade Him and make room for Peyton.
On paper it makes a lot of sense. Obama certainly has done nothing to help Christianity in his term. And the Church has been in decline among the ever critical 18-34 year old men age group that is so critical to advertisers.
It seems Peyton will have a host of options. The only option we see is the holy host. If missing Peyton can take a team from a super bowl favorite to having the first pick, not having Peyton with the church would be a very bad sign for eternal souls.
Tim Tebow was not available for comment but in private quarters has said he thought uniting God and football was a good idea.
