Ellis Hobbs was injured on the opening kickoff of the second half by a helmet-to-helmet hit from New York Giants’ defensive end Dave Tollefson. Hobbs actually fumbled the ball on the return but the Eagles still recovered. The game was delayed for well over minutes while Hobbs was immobilized and placed on a stretcher. Hobbs gave the thumbs up sign and pumped his fists as he was taken off on the stretcher. Cris Collingsworth said that the hit was not an illegal hit. Reports indicate that Hobbs has a neck injury.
