QB Matt Nagy's Contract Not Approved By the NFL
The biggest news for the Eagles today was that quarterback Matt Nagy's contract was not approved by the NFL—a rare occurrence.While it's not exactly clear as to why his contract was disapproved, it appears to have something to do with the fact that he was a coaching intern. Apparently the league is worried about teams designating guys as "coaching interns" so that they can attend all practices, meetings, and any other team functions, but then be called upon as a player if necessary.While this could create a precedent, I think the league may be out-thinking themselves just a bit on this one.Do they really believe that the Eagles were "stashing" a 31-year-old guy who never played outside of the Arena Football League?
