For the second time in his career, Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Shaun Suisham was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week, after kicking three field goals including the game winner with no time on the clock against the Philadelphia Eagles. In 2012, the veteran kicker from Bowling Green University has been one of the consistent members of the up-and-down Steelers franchise, connecting on all eight of his field goal attempts including the 3-for-3 effort against the Eagles. The 34-yard tally to cap the game was also the fifth game-winning kick of his career. Often viewed by some fans as a weak link, this was the first time he won the award for the Steelers, after winning the honors in 2007 with Washington Redskins.   Also, Be sure to "like" Steelers 101 on Facebook and to follow Steelers 101 on Twitter Text "oneteam" to 20222 to donate $10 to the One Team for the Lights charity initiative. Will Roethlisberger End Up Being Credited For A Touchdown Pass To Mendenhall?

The 13 yard touchdown that Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall scored in the win over the Philadelphia Eagles was officially scored as a run and not a pass from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The official scorer viewed the pass from Roethlisberger as being a lateral and I have had a few request to take a closer look at the play. Obviously this play could make the...

Hard Work By Ziggy Hood Pays Off With Sack Against Eagles

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons certainly had a great game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday and I thought the defensive line, particularly defensive end Ziggy Hood, had a better showing in the game as well.To illustrate how the hard work of Hood resulted in him getting a sack in the game, we need not look any further than the Eagles opening offensive possession...

Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2) at Tennessee Titans (1-4)Week 3, the Steelers traveled to play a significantly inferior team, missing two of their top defenders, and yet were still heavily bet by the public as road favorites. Staying on the Field: When Healthy Pittsburgh Steelers are Consistent Contenders

This past Sunday the Pittsburgh Steelers came out on top versus the Philadelphia Eagles 16-14.  It was an intriguing game that included a lot of hard-hitting, sloppy play, and resilience from each of the two quarterbacks late in the game.  Michael Vick fumbled the ball twice during the game which prevented the Eagles offense to produce more points than what they did.  However...
