Minicamp, training camp and the preseason all are in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ rear-view mirror.
Now the games count.
Before the Steelers play their games, we’re going to play our own little game. It’s time for the good ol’ Win-Loss-Win-Loss-Win-Win-Loss-Win Game.
For the New York Jets, this will be the Loss-Loss-Loss-Loss-Loss-Loss-Loss-Loss Game.
This is the time of year when we ask Vanna White if she has any extra “W”s and “L”s lying around, because we’re going to put one of those letters next to each game on the Steelers’ 2013 schedule and explain why we’re predicting a win or a loss.
Don’t worry. We won’t predict any ties. This ain’t soccer.
Sept. 8, Tennessee, 1 p.m.
Let’s not worry about Jake Locker. His last name is a noun. W, 27-10 (1-0)
Sept. 16, at Cincinnati, 8:40 p.m.
The Bengals will show they’re Super Bowl contenders under the Monday night lights. They’ll bust through that wild-card wall they’ve hit in Houston the last two years and advance well beyond that

Preseason football is more for the athletes and coaches than the casual fan, it is a live-action game-time situation that extends beyond training camp and is a bridge to the regular season. Preseason exposes weakness, holes, and strengths, and helps to determine how the roster gets widdled down to 53 men in hats.

Now that the Pittsburgh Steelers have made their final roster moves we have a much firmer grip on what the 2014 salary cap situation will look like. As of Sunday, the Steelers have 38 players under contract for 2014 with cap chargers totaling just over $119 million. In addition, they currently have nearly $4.5 million […]

By Matthew Marczi The Pittsburgh Steelers made their final roster cuts today, and they made me and many others look foolish with their predictions. Perhaps the biggest surprise is that they kept just eight linebackers on the roster. It will probably be simplest to go position by position and take a look at who is […]

During a pregame interview Thursday night on KDKA-TV, Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said the organization still hasn't opened up contract extension talks with any of their key players who are entering their final year under contract. Colbert, however, didn't rule out the possibility of a few getting done between now and the start […]
Jonathan Dwyer’s release from the Pittsburgh Steelers was one of the surprising moves in the NFL in teams’ attempts to get down to a 53-man roster. Dwyer was expected to be a utility back in the Steelers ground game, which looks stouter now than it has in some time.
Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports was able to give us some insight as to why the Steelers may have made the move:
Apparently the Pittsburgh Steelers are so desperate at running back they're turning to Felix Jones as their week one starter. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review says Felix Jones is expected to start Sunday's opener against the Tennessee Titans

Some things gotta hurt more then others. Like when you’re at the club and all the girls keep passing you up left and right at the bar and then finally, when all the hot guys are gone and you’re left there competing against the doofy looking guy with the Bill Gates haircut and glasses who’s wearing a sweater vest and you say to yourself ‘man, the next girl’s just gotta...
Wow what a difference two weeks makes. Not too long ago Felix Jones was on the Philadelphia Eagles roster bubble, likely to be cut when they were trimmed down. Somehow the Eagles found a trade partner in the Pittsburgh Steelers and now there are reports that he’s got a chance to start the teams season opener.
Jones is expected to start the season opener against Tennessee next...
The Steelers have waived running back Jonathan Dwyer.Fantasy Spin:Dwyer showed up overweight to training camp and according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers grew tired of his "lack of dedication to his job." Felix Jones made the team and will back up Isaac Redman until Le'Veon Bell returns to action.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, one of the NFL’s most dominant franchises in recent history, have been on the decline over the past few seasons. After losing Super Bowl XLV to the Green Bay Packers in 2010, the Steelers have struggled to find success and their last two seasons have yielded just one playoff appearance – a loss to the Denver Broncos. In 2012, Pittsburgh finished third...
