With each passing year, no pun intended, the National Football League becomes more and more of a quarterback-driven league. The day and age of teams running the football 40 times per game are a thing of the past, replaced by an era in which quarterbacks throwing 50 passes across four quarters of play is commonplace. Thus, having the right guy under center is more important now than ever. Simply put, a team can’t contend if they don’t have a good quarterback. And with rare exception, they can’t win a title unless they have a great quarterback. So which teams are in the best shape, and which ones are in a world of hurt, when it comes to having the right person in this vital position? The editors at cover32 provide their rankings of NFL quarterbacks, based on who would be the starter if the season got going today. To see where Russell Wilson checks in, click here. Seahawks’ Receiving Corps: Famously Vanilla?

The most important part of the Seahawks’ passing game is the defensive line. That’s right, you heard me. I don’t give a rip if Russell Wilson is throwing to Harvin, Tate, Jermaine Kearse, Doug Baldwin, or Jiminy Cricket. It doesn’t matter. The Superbowl is a perfect example of why. The post Seahawks’ Receiving Corps: Famously Vanilla? appeared first on Gridiron Experts...

Super Bowl MVP LB Malcolm Smith says Pete Carroll hasn't changed since USC Days

Seattle's Super Bowl MVP LB Malcolm Smith played for Seahawks coach Pete Carroll at USC and says he has never changed, he's the same guy now as he was then. That's good news for Seahawks fans because Carroll dominated during his tenure at USC and looks to be in the process of doing the same in Seattle. “Yeah, he definitely [has] the same energy level, the philosophy...

Super Marioshawn: More Marshawn Lynch Super Mario Touchdowns!

Marshawn Lynch TD: Super Mario edition Pt. 1 from Jonathan Joseph Alvarez on Vimeo. Marshawn Lynch TD: Super Mario edition Pt. 2 from Jonathan Joseph Alvarez on Vimeo. These are both spectacular.  I really don’t think I will ever get tired of seeing real NFL plays, especially plays featuring the great Marshawn Lynch, set to the sounds of the Super Mario video games.  Thanks...

Michael Bennett won’t give Seattle Seahawks a discount

The Seattle Seahawks had the best defense in the NFL this season and Michael Bennett was a big part of their success. The menacing defensive end is set to become a free agent next month and he plans on cashing in on a season where he had 8.5 sacks. It might not seem like an impressive total but Bennett routinely harassed quarterbacks while being part of a solid rotation for the...

Seahawks in great shape healthwise going into offseason

According to Terry Blount of ESPN, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll is happy about the conditioning of his team going into the offseason. “We came out of this season tremendously healthy,” Carroll said. “This is by far the best health situation I’ve even been around. We ended at a really good level of conditioning.” LT Russell Okung, who missed eight games in 2013 due...

49ers “Waldo” Human Kindness Story

The story of “49ers Waldo Kid” keeps getting more interesting. After being spotted at the Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl parade in full 49ers attire, the teenager became a national story. 49ers fans decided to raise money to send the youngster to a game at Levi’s Stadium. Then things got interesting. It was discovered that he is a ward of the state, meaning he is essentially...

Should Seattle make a play for Knowshon Moreno?

The Denver Broncos may have some sore feelings over what happened to them at the Super bowl at the hands of the Seahawks. However, the NFL is a business and the best logic to operate by is if you can’t beat them, join them. When it comes to running backs, the Seahawks are luckier than most NFL teams. Marshawn Lynch may not be the very best in the league but he’s at least in the...

Ex-NFL Raheem Brock Says Players Won’t Shower With Michael Sam

This is one of those situations where I understand what they are saying, but I think it is just their insecurity and machismo talking. Athletes are showering with gay teammates currently even if they know it or not. But, Brock who is retired can speak more freely than active players had this to say to TMZ. NFL Star Raheem Brock — ‘Guys Won’t Go In the Shower If They Know a...

Michael Bennett on hometown discounts: This is not Costco, this is real life

Since winning the Super Bowl, Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett’s attention has turned toward his impending free agency. Bennett has said that he would like to return to the Seahawks, who he joined on a one-year, $5 million deal last offseason. Who wins Beast Mode backup battle: Turbo or C-Mike?

One of the more unique things that Pete Carroll has done with the Seahawks is embrace open competition at each position. This means that players have to earn their right to play: seniority doesn’t count, the size of your contract doesn’t count. Ability is the only real determining factor when it comes to playing time. At running back the Seahawks have a starter in Marshawn Lynch...

What female do you know likes to discuss their weight, especially when they’re pregnant let alone on live TV? Well, not saying that ESPN anchor Lindsay Czarniak – who is eight months pregnant – likes discussing her weight but she certainly doesn’t have anything to be ashamed of. During a segment on Sportscenter, four Seattle […]

Russell Wilson has 'open invitation' to camp

The Texas Rangers are still hoping that Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will come to Surprise, Ariz., for spring training, but they aren't putting any pressure on him. "He’s got an open invitation to come," general manager Jon Daniels said Wednesday afternoon. "We have not reached out to him formally and talked to him about at this point."...

Seahawks Michael Bennett: I Won’t Take Discount, ‘This Is Not Costco’

Michael Bennett took a one year $5 million deal from the Seattle Seahawks last off-season and his play this year will guarantee the cocky pass-rusher a nice payday. If Seattle Lets Sidney Rice Go, Should the Vikings Get Him Back?

This totally won't happen, but what else do you have to do on a Monday morning in February? So, reports indicate that former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver, Sidney Rice, will likely be cut from the Seattle Seahawks. He's due a fat paycheck of $9.7 million in 2014, and after realizing he's only played in a total of 33 out of 48 possible games, after he was signed...
