It just wouldn’t be fair if one of the star’s of this year’s Hard Knocks didn’t suffer a few of his own hard knocks.

That’s exactly what happened on Tuesday, as Dolphins’ practice squad wide receiver Chris Hogan was “deleted” from the practice squad. Before you ask; yes, it really is called addition and deletion when a player is added or removed from a practice squad — according to nfl.com, at least.

The 23-year-old Penn-State-LAXer-turned-Monmouth-footballer had failed to make much of an impact (on the field) during the preseason. He did have a solid 3 reception, 30 yard game, but beyond that he only had one reception for the rest of the preseason. Perhaps Major League Lacrosse will come calling now?

As for A.Q. Shipley, it’s now confirmed that his being placed on waivers was only an attempt by the Colts to get him on their practice squad. As you may recall, he was placed on waivers on Monday almost immediately after making an active NFL roster for the first time in his career. He will now play the waiting game as he looks for a lineman currently on the roster to get hurt or play their way off of the team.
