As the American sporting world turns its attention tonight to the Big Apple for the NFL’s annual DRAFT, there were no shortage of parties, events and brands saddling up with existing league standouts to woo the ascended media.
When it comes to standing out, few made as big a splash this past season as the Super Bowl champion Jason Pierre-Paul. The freakishly athletic JPP from the University of South Florida teamed up with another figure known for her physical talents, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model Kate Upton, last night at the Axe Combine House to compete in an inter-gender battle for supremacy at Spin New York.
We caught up with JPP to talk about the draft, division rivals and his rapid rise to NFL superstardom.
The formula he’d like to see in a player New York drafts is reflective of his own work ethic and also that of his coach Tom Coughlin whom he praised as father like, “I want to see the Giants draft a guy that’s going to play hard and who comes to work and trie...

This morning, Eric Edholm of ProFootballWeekly.com tweeted that both Browns quarterback Colt McCoy and Dallas Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins could end up getting traded since we now know they’re both on the trade block.
Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger replied to his tweet and said that he should put Osi Umenyiora on that list because you “never know.”

Dre Kirkpatrick visited the Giants
According to Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger, the New York Giants recently brought in Alabama cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick for a pre-draft visit.
Kirkpatrick will likely be off the board by the time the Giants are on the clock with the 32nd pick, but you never know. Prince Amukamara fell to them during last year’s draft, and the same could happen this season.
Even though...
Robert Griffin III: Giants pass rush doesn't scare me
Robert Griffin III has been the talk of New York this week as he makes his way around town before Thursday night's 2012 NFL Draft, but the future quarterback of the Washington Redskins might have picked his own words a little better last night.
The projected No. 2 pick says the prospect of facing the New York Giants ferocious pass rush of Jason Pierre-Paul, Justin Tuck and Osi...

The New York Giants have signed linebacker Mathias Kiwanuka to a multi-year contract extension.
The Super Bowl champions announced the deal Friday, a day after they signed veteran defensive tackle Shaun Rogers.
The 29-year-old Kiwanuka appeared in all 20 games last season, playing strongside linebacker on first and second downs and as a lineman in passing situations. The seven...
Eli Manning Talks Slow, Moves Slow and Now Makes Ole Miss Cars Drive Slow
Eli Manning's tendency to take things nice and easy may be causing some drivers at his alma mater to grit their teeth. Ole Miss has set the speed limit on the road near the school's football stadium at 10 miles per hour, Yahoo Sports reports. Athletic director Ross Bjork tweeted a photo of the new signs. The number "10" was chosen because it is Manning's jersey...
New York Giants extend Mathias Kiwanuka
The Giants gave Kiwanuka a 2 year “prove it” deal last offseason after a nasty neck injury and he certainly proved it last year. He played a hybrid outside linebacker/defensive end spot and was above average in both spots. ProFootballFocus graded him out as the 5th best run stuffing outside linebacker (and 7th best overall) and he managed 5 sacks, 8 hits, and 22 pressures in...

The 12-year veteran played for the Saints last season, appearing in all 16 regular-season games and registering 22 tackles.A two-time Pro Bowl player, Rogers has also played for Detroit and Cleveland, and will provide veteran depth along the interior of the Giants' defensive line, likely rotating with Chris Canty, Linval Joseph...

Giants select RB David Wilson 32nd overall out of Virgina Tech
With the final pick of the night, the Giants select RB David Wilson out of Virgina Tech 32nd overall.
I didn't think GM Jerry Reese would pick a running back in the first round, but he most know what he has in David Wilson.
A lot of mock drafts had the Giants taking a offensive tackle, tight end or linebacker. Well that didn't happen.
David Wilson is an explosive runner...
