Now that he’s going into his third NFL season, Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara is focused on building off of a strong 2012 season as he strives to be the NFL’s best corner.
“I really want to be the No. 1 corner on this team, and I feel like right now Corey [Webster] is, and my goal is to always just try to beat him out,” Amukamara said, via ESPNNewYork.com. “And I think as soon as I establish myself as the No. 1 corner [on the team], then hopefully just become the No. 1 corner in the whole league.”
After battling injuries during his rookie season, Amukamara was happy to get through last season mostly unscathed.
“This was huge, getting those reps that I didn’t get last year,” Amukamara said. “I’m an athlete where I have to actually be in it to learn, rather than read and write it out.”
With Corey Webster on the back-end of his career and Terrell Thomas trying to come back from his second torn ACL, the Giants need Prince to continue to get better.
